Job Summary:
Teya Support Services, LLC is posting this requisition for onboarding the incumbent Housekeeping Aides for the DHA contract at Scott AFB, IL. Performs a variety of general cleaning duties as related to hospital environment. Performs all phases of room care, floor care and other duties as needed.
Job Duties, Critical Functions:
The Essential Duties and Responsibilities are intended to present a descriptive list of the range of duties performed for this position and are not intended to reflect all duties performed within the job. Other duties may be assigned.
- Cleans and supplies patient rooms, wards, nursing stations, lounges, lavatories, bathrooms, offices, and any other areas as assigned in accordance with environmental healthcare procedures and hospital objectives.
- Uses cleaning devices such as light mops, small wringers, dusters, household type vacuum cleaners, and other necessary tools, chemicals, and supplies.
- Performs specific cleaning tasks, including dusting horizontal surfaces; emptying waste baskets and removing trash; damp-wiping furniture; cleaning and polishing metal and porcelain bathroom fixtures; dry mopping and sanitizing floors of rooms and offices; spot-cleaning walls and windows; replenishing room supplies; making beds; and sorting and distributing linen.
- Assists in cleaning emergency spills observed or on request.
- Clean and maintains assigned equipment and has repairs made when needed. Reports facility defects in equipment, furniture, building, and fixtures when observed. Performs other duties as assigned.
- Performs special cleaning projects as well as daily cleaning duties in accordance with healthcare environmental cleaning procedures and hospital objectives. Uses cleaning equipment, including automatic floor machines, commercial vacuums, wet mops, large wringers and other necessary equipment, tools, chemicals and supplies. Dust mop and wet mops floors. Scrubs and buffs floors with rotary and other machines. Vacuums and cleans carpets with carpet extraction machines.
- Performs special floor cleaning projects in accordance with healthcare environmental cleaning procedures and hospital objectives. Uses cleaning equipment, including automatic floor machines, commercial vacuums, wet mops, large wringers and other necessary equipment, tools, chemicals and supplies. Machine scrubs and strips floors with power floor cleaning machines. Applies new and replacement coats of floor finish to hard surface flooring. Shampoo and cleans carpets with power carpet extraction machines. Moves furniture for periodic floor cleaning tasks. Assists in cleaning emergency spills observed or as requested.
- Performs daily waste and recyclables removal from the facilities in accordance with healthcare environmental cleaning procedures and hospital objectives. Waste removal includes both nonregulated and regulated medical waste. Non-regulated medical waste is picked up, transported and emptied into large dumpsters. Regulated medical waste is picked up, transported, packaged and stored. Regulated medical waste handling is subject to stringent regulatory guidelines and requires the use of personal protective equipment.
