Requirements
  1. Reports directly to the Dietary Manager.
  2. Prepares and coordinates food preparation and meal service according to menu schedules.
  3. Ability to read and, understand, and follow recipe directions, diet orders and work assignments.
  4. Ensure appropriate portioned servings according to portion control standards.
  5. Taste and smell prepared food to determine quality and palatability.
  6. Able to work flexible hours, such as during an emergency situation.
  7. Follows prescribed procedures in setting up hot and cold food lines; chooses proper utensils and sets steam line to appropriate temperature for menu items.
  8. May serve a range of hot and cold food items from counters and steam tables; adds relishes and garnishes according to instructions.
  9. Replenishes foods, silverware, glassware, dishes, and trays at serving stations; organizes and replaces service ware to appropriate locations.
  10. Notify Dietary Manager of food, supplies or equipment needs.
  11. Cleans and maintains work areas; collects and places garbage and trash in designated containers.
  12. Performs other duties as assigned.
