Requirements- Reports directly to the Dietary Manager.
- Prepares and coordinates food preparation and meal service according to menu schedules.
- Ability to read and, understand, and follow recipe directions, diet orders and work assignments.
- Ensure appropriate portioned servings according to portion control standards.
- Taste and smell prepared food to determine quality and palatability.
- Able to work flexible hours, such as during an emergency situation.
- Follows prescribed procedures in setting up hot and cold food lines; chooses proper utensils and sets steam line to appropriate temperature for menu items.
- May serve a range of hot and cold food items from counters and steam tables; adds relishes and garnishes according to instructions.
- Replenishes foods, silverware, glassware, dishes, and trays at serving stations; organizes and replaces service ware to appropriate locations.
- Notify Dietary Manager of food, supplies or equipment needs.
- Cleans and maintains work areas; collects and places garbage and trash in designated containers.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
