We are seeking an experienced and gracious Host to join our team. As the first and last point of contact for our guests, this role is key to creating a warm and memorable dining experience from arrival to departure.
Position Summary The Host is responsible for greeting guests promptly and professionally, managing the flow of the dining room, and ensuring seamless coordination with the front-of-house team. A welcoming presence, attention to detail, and strong organizational skills are essential.
Key Responsibilities
Greet and welcome guests warmly upon arrival
Manage seating assignments and coordinate guest flow throughout service
Ensure guests feel comfortable while waiting and maintain an inviting atmosphere at the host stand
Communicate effectively with guests and team members to ensure a smooth service
Manage reservations and walk-ins using POS and reservation systems
Maintain a polished, professional demeanor at all times
Assist guests with coat check and personal belongings, when applicable
Answer incoming calls with clarity and courtesy, providing accurate information on hours, availability, and policies
Print and prepare menus and shift summaries as part of opening/closing duties
Exhibit knowledge of menus and provide accurate answers to guest inquiries
Uphold all service standards and help foster a refined and welcoming environment
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host stand and front entry area
Qualifications
Minimum 1 year of experience in a host role within an upscale dining setting
Familiarity with POS and reservation systems (e.g., Resy, OpenTable, SevenRooms)
Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills
Enthusiastic, polished, and guest-focused demeanor
Ability to multitask and remain composed in a fast-paced environment
Passion for hospitality and a commitment to delivering outstanding service
Reliable, punctual, and flexible with availability (Sunday availability required)
