A General Maintenance will be responsible primarily for general maintenance and repairs in guest rooms, meeting space, and front-of-the-house areas. Guest room and public area entry-level preventative maintenance are included. A General Maintenance Engineer will also perform some repairs on mechanical, electrical, kitchen, and laundry equipment, requiring some skills and experience in these areas, as well as good communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform routine maintenance tasks in guest rooms, meeting spaces, and common areas (e.g., plumbing, electrical, HVAC, painting, and carpentry).
• Troubleshoot and repair equipment or systems, including lighting, air conditioning, water systems, and appliances.
• Conduct regular inspections and preventative maintenance of mechanical equipment and systems.
• Respond promptly and professionally to maintenance requests and emergencies from guests or hotel staff.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the engineering shop and equipment.
• Follow all safety protocols and ensure compliance with company and industry safety standards.
• Work collaboratively with other departments (e.g., Housekeeping, Front Office) to ensure timely response and resolution of maintenance issues.
• Assist in monitoring and controlling utility consumption and identify areas for conservation.
• Log all work performed and complete daily shift reports accurately.

This is an hourly position with a compensation of $58.84 per hour.

• Minimum 1-2 years of experience in building maintenance, preferably in a hotel or hospitality environment.
• Working knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and HVAC systems.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to lift, push, and pull moderate to heavy amounts of weight.
• Comfortable working on ladders, in tight spaces, and in varying environmental conditions.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Flexibility to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or trade school training a plus.
