Maintenance Engineer**
**Job Description**
The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for performing setup, troubleshooting, installation, and repairs of unplanned maintenance on Tier I equipment, including shrink wrap equipment, heat tunnels, printers, checkweighers, blenders, process equipment, conveyors, dust collectors, metal detectors, and box tapers. Additionally, the role includes handling 50% of Tier II equipment and job functions, such as cartoners, stick machines, wrappers, gordics, presses, fabrication, and labelers. The engineer works with limited technical guidance and provides training to less experienced maintenance staff.
**Responsibilities**
+ Repair and maintain manufacturing equipment on a daily basis.
+ Diagnose problems and identify long-term solutions to increase overall equipment effectiveness.
+ Properly install equipment while adhering to necessary safety standards.
+ Document maintenance or installation work performed for submission to MPulse.
+ Fabricate parts for all production equipment as needed.
+ Ensure machinery is set up and ready to run in accordance with production schedules.
+ Provide accurate records of the installation of equipment.
+ Keep department workstations and storage areas orderly and clean.
+ Assist in the completion and revisions of Preventive Maintenance tasks and documentation required in the Maintenance Department.
+ Maintain maintenance stock supplies and reorder as required.
+ Provide training to maintenance staff and production personnel.
+ Complete other duties as assigned.
**Essential Skills**
+ Experience as a maintenance technician or mechanic.
+ Proficiency in preventative and corrective maintenance.
+ Skill in troubleshooting, pneumatics, repair, and PLCs.
+ Knowledge of fabrication, electrical, and mechanical systems.
+ Ability to perform preventive maintenance and PLC troubleshooting.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Two-year technical college degree or equivalent.
+ 3-7 years of experience working as a maintenance mechanic in a cGMP environment, preferably in dietary supplements, pharmaceuticals, or food manufacturing.
+ Experience with fabricating own parts and troubleshooting PLCs and sensors.

The work environment includes exposure to hearing protection due to noise from machines, spending some time in a cleanroom environment requiring gowns and hairnets, and restrictions on jewelry and cell phones in production areas. Employees may experience a strong fruit smell as the company deals with fruit-flavored powders.
