Dining Hall Cashier (part-time)

Located in Brunswick, Maine, Bowdoin College boasts a student population of almost 2000. Our Dining Services Department makes everything from scratch and are consistently rated in the top 10 for college dining! We have our own butcher shop, bakeshop, and organic garden that all supply food to our two dining halls and three retail locations.We are seeking a Dining Hall Cashier to join the team! Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Greeting dining service patrons pleasantly, verifying student and employee identification, and board availability for specific meals.Verify meal counts.Operating the computerized checking system that monitors board plans and employee debit plans and determining access eligibility to the dining halls. Troubleshooting and promptly reporting system problems.Accurately handling credit card transactions based on price list.Providing excellent customer service especially relating to customer queries regarding function locations, menu, campus directions and any other general informational questions.Restocking checking station supplies including candies, deposit slips, charge forms, and other office supplies.May be required to perform light cleaning duties, as needed.Performs basic sanitation and food preparation duties in between meal periods. Sample tasks include wiping tables, bussing dishes, sweeping and mopping dining rooms, and basic food preparation.

The hourly rate for this position is $18.00 per hour.

Experience Requirements and/or Equivalents

Entry level position, no prior work experience requiredAt least one year of experience in a cashier capacity highly preferred
