OVERVIEW:
The Front of House (FOH) staff member reports to the General Manager, and works a variety of guest-facing positions within the GNB Tasting Room. The FOH staff member will maintain a watchful eye on all things related to hospitality and daily service operations - including greeting guests, serving beverage & food, taking orders at the POS and on the fly, running & bussing, attending to packaged beer and merchandise sales, online order fulfillment, maintaining cleanliness of all facilities, and screening guests as needed to maintain a safe, enjoyable environment. As one of the important and often first faces of ourpany for many of our fans, it is their job to represent Great Notion & our products in the best, most informative way possible while providing an outstanding experience to every guest who walks in our door. Staff must Great Notionsmitment to maintainingpany values of family, quality, and creativity. FOH staff will be a part of the overall tip pool within the Great Notion Taproom.
Schedule: Part time with day, night & weekend availability required.
THE EVERYDAY VIEW:
Greet all guests entering the Taproom promptly and courteously and provide a brief introduction to the premises; further direct guests based on their needs by providing appropriate menus or information
Be well-versed in all things Great Notion be knowledgeable of the brewing process, the craft beer industry, various styles and ingredients, and how to properly evaluate and describe the products we make
Be an expert on quality-oriented beverage service includingmon tasting note vocabulary, proper pour, beer clean glassware, and signifiers of quality issues
Anticipate and respond to guest needs in a timely and efficient manner surrounding all aspects of beverage service
Follow all established Great Notion steps of service and bemitted to providing unmatched guest experience
Have an overall awareness of the property and take initiative and ownership to ensure all aspects of it are clean, safe, presentable, and inviting inclusive of all guest-facing areas, restrooms, store front, and staff-only areas.
Perform opening/running/closing duties according to Great Notion policy and procedures, including but not limited to routine deep cleaning tasks, and daily and weekly side work duties
Move and re-stock kegs and packaged beer, reporting inventory and any changes as needed
Accurately execute all transactions through our POS systems, Toast and Shopify
Reinforce and provide accountability for all cash handling processes including credit card, and gift card transactions
Professionally handle phone calls including, but not limited to, to-go orders, directions, guestplaints, and event inquiries. Elevate to leadership as necessary and/or appropriate
Always assist guests, vendors, and accounts as a representative of the brand, maintaining a professional appearance and demeanor
Efficiently and calmly handle multiple tasks at one time
Effectively use downtime to aplish cleaning, stocking, and overall maintenance required for all areas of the facility
Responsible for daily cleaning,anizing, stocking and selling of retail items, draft and packaged beer
Interface with subscription and club members, ensuring accuracy of online order pickups, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring optimal guest experience
Keep General Manager promptly and fully informed of all issues (i.e. problems, unusual matters of significance, and positive events) using establishedpanymunication channels, and take prompt action w necessary or suggest alternative courses of action
Assistance with ordering, receiving, inventory management, and item requisitioning
Take and implement directives & feedback from Great Notion leadership
Be a team player and be able to interact with all levels of employees within theanization
Maintain current knowledge of all beverage, merchandise, & food products offered by Great Notion, includingmon allergens and available substitutions
Monitor responsible consumption of alcoholic beverages for all guests and ensure guest and staff safety at all times maintainingpliance with OLCC guidelines
Communicate (both written and verbal) in a clear, effective, respectful, and timely manner with both Great Notion employees and the public
Assist in maintaining an environment that encourages ownership, accountability, and regard to delivering the highest standards of beverage, food, and service
Respond to and be an active participant in projects and requests from all Great Notion departments/divisions
Utilize educational resources provided and seek out other education and training opportunities to continually better your skills and abilities as a hospitality professional
Assist in developing menu items, promotions, initiatives thatplement Great Notion products as requested
Ad to all applicable local, state and federal laws, rules, and regulations
Other tasks as needed and as assigned by General Manager and Great Notion leadership team

Great Notion is a brewery started by three friends and neighbors in Portland, OR that offers hazy, fruit-forward IPAs and culinary-inspired sours & stouts sold directly to customers through a creative new mobile app. Great Notion has won numerous Gold and Silver Medals, including accolades at World Beer Cup, GABF, Best of Craft Beer Awards, and Oregon Beer Awards, as well as the #1 IPA in America from Paste Magazine.
We currently have 5 taprooms in the Pacific Northwest: Alberta St. NW 28th Ave., Beaverton, Oregon, and Ballard and Getown in Washington, and are rapidly expanding with a new location in Berkeley, CA and more.
