Barista for brand-new bakery/cafe at Woodblock Chocolate in NE
This position is part-time (20-30 hours) and paid hourly. It requires involvement and knowledge in all aspects of Woodblock beverage preparation, customer service, and retail products.
Our goal is to maintain a clean, weing space and provide friendly, professional service in a neighborly and timely manner.
Daily activities include: Making drinks,pleting sales transactions, explaining Woodblock (Chocolate and Bakery) products to customers,municating with the back of house, helping to restock pastry from the back of house,anizing display cases, and deep cleaning. You will be responsible for maintaining theanization and cleanliness of the space, putting away orders, facing/restocking merchandise, and doing dishes with a quick pace and focus towards efficiency.
Shifts are 8 hours with a 30 minute unpaid lunch break and two paid ten-minute breaks. Our current hours of operation are 7am - 3:30pm, Wednesday - Sunday. Because of our limited staffing, weekend shifts are currently mandatory.
Duties and Responsibilities
Work as a member of a team andmunicate clearly to ensure thepletion of daily work and bakery cleanliness.
Ensure that all food/beverage is handled and served in a manner consistent with Woodblock s standards and Multnomah County food safety laws.
Maintain professional, polite, and hopefully friendly interactions with fellow staff and customers.
Maintain ananized, respectful and efficient environment.
Communicate conflicts promptly to your direct manager.
Maintain awareness of FOH inventory and address ormunicate needs.
Troubleshoot customer and order issues; handle as able, or, seek help from manager.
Maintain new and all FOH processes and actively keep the front of houseanized and orderly.
Job Requirements
1-3 years of experience working as a barista and in food service
Excellent sales & customer service skills, professionalism,passion, & attention to detail
Must have a current Oregon State Food Workers Card
Must be able to lift 50 pounds, stand, and move deftly and quickly for the duration of a shift
Requires weekend availability
