Position Summary
Receives cash from both customers and employees in payment for restaurant goods and/or services. Must be able to handle all guest requests. While promoting and exhibiting World Class Guest Service to all the Isleta Resort and Casino employees and guests.
Isleta Resort and Casino Guest Service Agreement
All Team Members will display 100% commitment to World Class Guest Service through the delivery and maintenance of Guest Service Standards established by the Isleta Resort and Casino.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities: This list of tasks is illustrative ONLY and is not a comprehensive listing of all functions and tasks performed by positions in this class. - Answers customers' questions, and provides information on the restaurant, menu, pricing and hours of operation as well as procedures or policies that may affect the guest.
- Calculates prices of goods, services or admission, and tabulates bills using POS cash registers, or optical price scanners.
- Greets guests upon arrival and welcomes them to the restaurant.
- Seats guests at tables in a way that assures smooth operation of the entire restaurant and a fair rotation of guests amongst the serving staff.
- Seats guest to assure optimal revenues for the restaurant.
- Maintains menus, host stand and entryway to always be clean, presentable and welcoming.
- Answers the telephone and answers questions about menus, specials and hours of operation.
- Takes reservations in accordance with the policies of the individual restaurant.
- Maintains clean and orderly checkout areas. Receives payment by cash, check, credit cards, vouchers, or automatic debits.
- Performs accurate and timely registering of cash sales or complimentary meal (non-cash) sales
- Computes or re-computes bill, itemized lists, and tickets showing amount due. Enters billing information into cash register as required
- Makes change and issues receipts to customers
- Counts cash and cash items at the beginning and at the end of the shift, and reconciles those items with the cash balance.
- Prepares various reports of transactions. Reads and records totals shown on cash register tape, and verifies against cash on hand. Promptly reports discrepancies to Supervisor.
- Enters bill and initials credit memorandums for any complimentary meals
- Verifies signature authority in all credit memorandums
- Operates cash register by entering cost data as required to record price, compiles printed list and display cost of customer purchase and tax on monitor screen
- Accurately and promptly records any tip taken at register on tip sheet at end of shift.
- May be assigned to serve during concerts and/or special events
- Performs each complete financial transaction in routine order and one at a time. Is alert for fraud.
- Does not make additional charge or otherwise engage in another financial transaction with customer until the food service billing is complete, including providing customer with any change due
- Occasionally performs other duties as assigned.
- Must be able to train staff in dining room procedures.
- Maintains all service standards as defined by the company and the Cashier position.

Education and Experience
- High School Diploma and/or General Educational Degree (GED) equivalent, preferred.
- Six months prior cashiering experience
Special Requirements, Licenses, and Certification
- Must be able to acquire and maintain Non-Key Gaming License issued through POIGRA.
- Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug test and background investigation.
- Must be flexible with work schedule. Must be willing to work any days/hours as needed or required to meet business needs.
- Must maintain all Isleta Resort and Casino-wide educational and certification requirements.
- Must have a New Mexico State Alcoholic Beverage Service Certification, required.
- Must acquire POIGRA Alcohol Server License, required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Proficiency in Math.
- Proficiency in handling money transaction and in the use of POS systems
- Proficiency in using a calculator and automated cash register.
- Must be able to speak, read, and write in English.
- Must have essential experience operating POS (Point of Sale) systems.
Physical Demands and Work Environment.
- Must be able to lift, move, and place 25 pounds intermittently.
- Must be able to sit, stand, and/or walk for extended periods of time.
Working Conditions:
Smoke filled environment, exposure to various lights and sounds. May, on occasion be required to work outdoors. Occasionally may deal with angry or hostile individuals. Must be on call at all times. May work holidays, weekends, and different shifts.
