Summary
The Janitor position is responsible for maintaining a clean facility by completing a variety of cleaning tasks such as mopping and vacuuming floors, cleaning surfaces with disinfectant and emptying trash cans or recycling bins.
Duties and Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform the following essential duties satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned to address business needs and changing business practices.
- Performs all cleaning duties for the facility including offices, production breakrooms, etc.
- Performs heavy cleaning duties such as: floors, washing walls and glass, and performing routine maintenance etc.
- Cleans facility restrooms and ensures that toilet paper, towels, and other necessities are in the restrooms
- Picks up trash in and around facility and grounds, and discards it properly
- Ensures that safety and housekeeping standards are met and maintained
- Maintains proper inventory of housekeeping and cleaning supplies and ensures they are in stock

- Ability to manage time effectively
- Ability to work safely with a variety of cleaning supplies
- Ability to work independently and under minimal supervision
