Job DetailsPRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION :
Prepares/produces/bakes pastries, desserts, and baked items according to standard recipes, to contribute the overall guest satisfaction.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND JOB DUTIES :
- Prepares/produces/bakes all pastries, desserts, and baked goods for restaurant outlets and banquets.
- Keeps adequate supply of all prepared products on hand and ensures the proper storage and refrigeration of same.
- Keeps spoilage/waste to a minimum by ordering and utilizing proper quantities and rotating products. Develop new products for a la carte and catering menus on a rotating basis.
- Lines up pastry products in mobile carts according to the needs of the particular outlet/function.
- Set daily pars on all products to ensure freshness.
- Utilize any and all leftovers into usable products.
- Assist kitchen management by performing other culinary duties, as requested.
- Keeps workstation neat and orderly - "clean as you go".
PHYSICAL DEMANDS :
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to walk, use hands to finger, handle, feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl and talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand and taste and smell. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Employee must be able to use a chef knife.
SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED :
- Skilled pastry cook.
- Knife handling, pastry & baked goods knowledge.
EDUCATION REQUIRED :
High School graduate or equivalent required. Culinary or pastry apprenticeship preferred.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED :
One to two years pastry experience.
LICENSES OR CERTIFICATES :
Applicable food sanitation certifications required.
SALARY RANGE :
$21.80 - $27.25/hour
