Beverage Steward Full Time

PURPOSE: As a Beverage Steward, no one day is ever the same at Albertsons Safeway. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Establishing and developing relationships with customers by educating them about wines and beers.

Enhancing the customer shopping experience by recommending wines and beers as well as food and beverage pairings.

Maintaining superior customer service and increasing customer loyalty by having friendly, casual conversations with customers about wines and beers, as well as food and beverage pairings.

Developing and organizing unique customer tasting and sampling events by making the connection between beverages and cheese, meat, seafood, appetizers, entrees, and desserts. Presenting and displaying wines and beers to attract customers.

Encouraging and promoting special orders.

Ensuring the proficiency and profitability of the department by executing marketing plans, monitoring/maintaining inventory levels and replenishing wines and beer products throughout the day.

Communicates with vendors on ordering and merchandising & marketing strategies and sales plans.

Stocks, displays, and rotates product in the liquor department to ensure quality, selection, eye-appeal, and proper inventory level to meet customer demands.

Creates effective displays for mixers, beer, wine, and other related merchandise in the department.

Maintaining department schematics, safety, and sanitation.

Implementing the departments monthly/weekly department merchandising plan.

Adhere to uniform and grooming policy as defined within company policy.

Performing other duties as assigned.

Pay Rate: $24.61"

Starting rates will be no less than the local minimum wage and may vary based on things like location, experience, qualifications and the terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement. Dependent on length of service, hours worked and any applicable collective bargaining agreement, benefits include healthcare, sick pay, PTO/Vacation pay and retirement benefits (pension and/or 401(k) eligibility). This is an entry level position with advancement opportunity.
