Job DescriptionCleaner (Mon-Fri, 5:00am 1:30pm)
The Cleaner I is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and condition standards of the Colleges buildings and immediate grounds. The Cleaner I performs a variety of housekeeping duties to maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in both residential and administrative settings. This entry-level position involves routine cleaning tasks and requires attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently to ensure a clean and safe environment for residents or occupants.
+ Perform general cleaning tasks, including dusting, sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors.
+ Clean and sanitize bathrooms, including toilets, sinks, showers, and countertops.
+ Clean and disinfect kitchen areas, including countertops, appliances, and sinks.
+ Empty trash receptacles and dispose of waste in accordance with established procedures.
+ Clean and polish mirrors, glass surfaces, and windows as needed.
+ Replenish cleaning supplies and notify supervisor of any shortages or equipment malfunctions.
+ Follow established cleaning schedules and procedures to ensure consistency and efficiency.
+ Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the supervisor promptly.
Compensation:
+ Hourly rate for this position is $18.40 per hour (this role is eligible for overtime and shift differentials)
+ New employees at Bowdoin will receive a $500 Sign-Bonus ( paid at first check and paid after 90 days of eligibility requirements are met).
