Job Summary

This position is responsible for performing skilled work in the maintenance of campus buildings.

Responsibilities

Performs building maintenance duties 70 %

  • Repairs doors and hardware.
  • Repairs and replaces door locks.
  • Performs carpentry repairs.
  • Repairs roofs and gutters.
  • Repairs ceiling tiles.
  • Repairs floors.
  • Paints interior and exterior surfaces.
  • Performs glass and window repairs.
  • Repairs signage.
  • Welds and fabricates parts and equipment.
  • Repairs fences.
  • Changes HVAC filters and belts.
  • Pressure washes buildings, patios, and walkways.
  • Sets up and relocates furniture.
  • Operates a variety of equipment and hand and power tools.

Maintains tools and supplies - 10 %

  • Maintains tools and supply inventory; makes purchases as needed.
  • Maintains and repairs tools and equipment.

Performs a variety of related duties - 20 %

  • Assists in setting- up for special events.
  • Provides assistance to other department personnel as needed.
  • Performs custodial maintenance as assigned.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Required Experience

More than two years of related experience required.

Other Required Qualifications

Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver's license issued by the State of Georgia for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.
