ROOM ATTENDANT - GRAND ALEUTIAN HOTEL

UniSea, Inc. is seeking a friendly, courteous and efficient Room Attendant in the Grand Aleutian Hotel in beautiful Dutch Harbor, Alaska situated in the stunning scenery of the Aleutian Islands.

Essential Duties:
Clean guest rooms and bathrooms, i.e. vacuuming, dusting, making beds, disinfecting surfaces, etc.
Perform public area cleaning. i.e. vacuuming lobby areas, cleaning public restrooms, cleaning administrative offices, shampoo carpets, etc.
Help in laundry with duties such as folding towels and linens as well as ironing linens
Report any maintenance needs in guest rooms or lobby areas
Develop, implement and maintain Everyday Focus activities to ensure continuous improvements and cost efficiencies in position and department
Other duties as assigned
Position Requirements:
High School diploma or equivalent
6 months - 1 year customer experience required. At least 6 months prior housekeeping or janitorial experience preferred.
Must be able to stand on feet for long periods of time
Role will entail frequent bending, lifting, etc.
Must have good communication skills
Ability to interact in a positive manner with diversity of cultures and in team environment.
Ability to follow instructions
Knowledge of safety and sanitation best practices for a hospitality environment preferred
This is an hourly non-exempt position with a rate of $18.07 per hour.
FREE ROOM & BOARD + AIRFARES: Housing is provided in our dormitories at no cost to employees and delicious daily meals are provided by the company. UniSea also provides airfare to Alaska, and two round trip airfares for vacations.
