Position Overview

The Assistant Food and Beverage Manager is responsible for overseeing the food and beverage areas within the resort. This role includes scheduling, forecasting, training, and compliance with all relevant laws and operating procedures. The Assistant Manager will play a critical role in service execution, team leadership, and guest satisfaction, as well as contributing to financial performance and event coordination.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Food and Beverage Manager in planning, directing, and coordinating all food and beverage operations to ensure high-quality service and profitability.
  • Supervise and support food and beverage staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management.
  • Provide ongoing coaching and feedback to staff regarding service on the floor, ensuring consistency in delivering exceptional guest experiences.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene standards in all dining areas.
  • Collaborate with the culinary team to maintain menu quality and consistency, aligned with the resort’s luxury standards.
  • Monitor guest satisfaction and address service issues promptly and professionally.
  • Manage budgets, control costs, and help achieve financial targets.
  • Oversee inventory management and procurement of food, beverages, and supplies.
  • Innovate and implement guest dining enhancements that drive revenue and customer delight.
  • Foster strong relationships with vendors to ensure quality and timely deliveries.
  • Stay informed on industry trends and incorporate best practices into operations.

Salary and Benefits

This is a salaried position with an annual range of $68,000 – $80,000. Final compensation will be determined based on experience and qualifications.

  • Proven experience in food and beverage management, preferably in a luxury resort or fine-dining setting.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to inspire and engage teams.
  • Advanced knowledge of food, wine, and beverage service in luxury hospitality environments.
  • Detail-oriented, with strong organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Financial acumen, including budgeting and cost control.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations; food handling certifications (e.g., ServSafe) a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving and guest recovery skills.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as business demands.
  • Wine/beverage knowledge in an upscale environment strongly preferred.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs or more.
  • Able to stand for long periods of time.
  • Must be comfortable walking large areas across our expansive property.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
