Compensation and Benefits:

Compensation: Starting pay rate of $13.85 + tips, actual wage adjusted based on experience

Benefits: Seasonal position eligible for a season pass for employee/dependents and privileges at several other resorts. Several discount programs (i.e. food & beverage, retail/rental, tickets, etc.) also available.

Job Summary:

Provide stocking, cleaning and organizational assistance to the wait and bar staff on the floor.

Summary of Key Responsibilities:

Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

Warmly greet guests

Be aware of specials and accurately describe menu items

Offer friendly suggestions on food and beverage options to increase the guest's experience

Understand steps of service in order to provide support to all servers in assigned section

Accurately and efficiently fill guest requests by communicating promptly with service, bar staff, or supervisor on duty

Promptly assist servers in your section as needed

Maintain clean and organized work areas

Exceed company standards for personal appearance

Remain flexible, efficient, and helpful in assisting other servers, bartenders, support staff, and supervisors in the restaurant

Be respectful of all co-workers, culinary staff, guests, and fellow Killington Resort employees at all times

Efficiently clear and reset tables, or assist in stocking of ice, service items or bar items

Maintain clean and organized dish areas, and maintain all custodial supplies

Assist in the reset and cleaning of restaurant at end of shift

Be knowledgeable of Killington Resort, and all amenities, events, and services available

Resolving any guest issues immediately. Notify supervisors of all issues with guests

Assist in other areas of the restaurant as deemed necessary by supervisor

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

Basic education (high school), plus relevant restaurant or other food service experience preferred

Must be able to lift 40 pounds

Must be able to stand for 12 hours

Vermont Department of Liquor Control certification of state liquor regulations

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Excellent communication and organization skills. Able to multi-task effectively

Good basic knowledge of dining room and bar operations, including waiting on tables, hosting, bartending, and cashiering

Neat appearance and pleasant personality. Ability to deal with customers and staff in a courteous and efficient manner, and ability to deal effectively with intoxicated customers
