BASIC FUNCTION (the primary purpose of this position):
Ensures the Employee Dining Room (EDR) is prepped, stocked and clean delivering positive internal guest service.
PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Promote a clean, safe, healthy and friendly work environment for employees and guests; report and direct safety issues to Safety Committee.
- Assist in the preparation of all food items for the EDR on a particular shift.
- Assists in stocking all storage areas of the main kitchen.
- Reads prep lists performs all functions listed with direction from the Sous Chef or other kitchen personnel.
- Prep duties include; slicing, dicing, chopping and breading meats, fish, and vegetables and storing them in the prepared cooler with proper labels and dates.
- Cleans and sanitizes as necessary.
- Coordinate with day shift attendant to ensure needed prep is completed and provide back up support in preparation of salads and other items for the EDR.
- Ensure the dining room is clean, product is rotated and labeled appropriately, and temperature logs maintained.
- Complete proper cleaning of food stations and common areas of the EDR assuring proper sanitation is maintained.
- May be cross utilized to support other areas in the kitchen.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS (objective educational or technical training required; skills; and years of experience):
- High School Degree or GED.
- One year experience working in food service.
- Demonstrated ability to work with a minimum of supervision.
- Ability to obtain food handlers permit.
- Must pass and remain in compliance with Coquille Gaming Commission background check and drug free work place policies
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT (the physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. Ability to work weekends, holidays and evening hours as business demands. While performing duties of this position, employee is required to stand for extended periods, and frequently walk, and use hands to; finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Occasionally sit. Ability to manage stress appropriately, make decisions under pressure. The casino work environment may expose you to second hand smoke on a regular basis.
