Optim Medical Center Tattnall is seeking a full time Facility Maintenance Technician for the Reidsville, GA location.

Primary Duties: Hospital maintenance job description Hospital maintenance technician is responsible for maintaining the functionality and safety of a healthcare facility's physical environment. This includes performing repairs, preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting issues related to various building systems and equipment. They may work with HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and other systems, as well as general building upkeep and repairs. Key duties and responsibilities • Preventive Maintenance: Performing scheduled inspections and routine maintenance on critical systems and equipment like HVAC, refrigeration, generators, life safety equipment, medical gas systems, and other machinery. • Repairs and Troubleshooting: Diagnosing and resolving mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and building system issues. This includes fixing leaks, patching drywall, repairing fixtures, and troubleshooting equipment malfunctions. • Minor Construction and Renovations: Undertaking small construction projects and performing carpentry tasks such as hanging doors or building shelves. • Waste Management: Handling the proper removal and disposal of various waste streams, including medical, hazardous, and general waste. • Grounds keeping: Performing outdoor duties such as grounds clean-up and other grounds functions and other duties as assigned. • Vendor Coordination: Assisting with and recommending purchases of supplies and equipment, and coordinating with outside contractors when specialized services are needed. • Documentation: Completing work orders, documenting completed tasks, and maintaining accurate maintenance records. Essential skills and qualifications • Technical Skills: Proficiency in HVAC systems, electrical systems, plumbing, and basic carpentry is essential and other duties as assigned. • Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving: Ability to identify, diagnose, and resolve technical issues effectively and efficiently. • Attention to Detail: Meticulous approach to tasks, ensuring high-quality work and thoroughness in inspections and repairs. • Communication Skills: Effective communication with colleagues, supervisors, medical staff, patients, and visitors, including explaining technical issues clearly and concisely. • Physical Stamina: The role can be physically demanding, requiring the ability to lift heavy objects, bend, crouch, and work in various positions and environments. • Safety and Compliance: Strong understanding and adherence to safety protocols, OSHA regulations, infection control practices, and other relevant healthcare standards. • Time Management and Organization: Ability to prioritize tasks, manage workload effectively, and adhere to maintenance schedules. • Collaboration and Teamwork: Ability to work effectively within a team environment and collaborate with different departments within the hospital. • Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent, with vocational training or an apprenticeship program being beneficial. Experience in commercial or hospital building maintenance required.
