Specific Job Details :
Starting ASAP
6 hours per day - Monday - Friday
Under the direct supervision of the Principal, Director of Facilities, and Principal, performs general cleaning and maintenance in school buildings and grounds; maintains equipment in functional condition; and provides cleaning and custodial assistance to students, teachers, visitors and others as necessary.

Dayton Consolidated School is a highly rated, public school located in DAYTON, ME. It has 118 students in grades PK, K-5 with a student-teacher ratio of 10 to 1.

Brief Job Duties:
The ideal candidate will have experience in the following areas:

1. Checks and secures building at beginning and end of shift for the purpose of ensuring the safety and cleanliness of the building.
2. Cleans rooms, hallways, cafeterias, restrooms, offices, stairways, and other areas of building according to school district standards.
3. Sweeps, mops, buffs, strips, and waxes floors.
4. Cleans rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and blinds.
5. Washes walls, ceilings, woodwork, windows, doors, and sills.
6. Removes graffiti, cleans glass areas.
7. Replaces light bulbs.
8. Sets up and breaks down chairs, tables and equipment in meeting rooms, and functional rooms.
9. Clears snow from entrances and walks, and spreads sand and ice melting chemicals.
10. Performs grounds-keeping duties, clears debris and maintains grounds.

Criminal History Record Check (CHRC), which includes Fingerprints on file with the Maine Department of Education

Experience:
Prior cleaning or groundskeeping experience is preferred, but not required.
