Summary

As a Market Line Cook , you will prepare fresh, high-quality menu items for Union City Market and Hook & Fork along the scenic Hood Canal. This role supports both outlets by handling day-to-day culinary tasks, maintaining kitchen cleanliness, and ensuring food is made to standard and served with care.

  • Prepare menu items for Union City Market and Hook & Fork with consistency and care.
  • Ensure timely and accurate culinary production that meets established quality and presentation standards.
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and sanitation across all prep and cooking areas.
  • Collaborate with the Market Manager and Hook & Fork Kitchen Lead to support guest satisfaction and smooth daily operations.
  • Uphold health and safety standards in accordance with resort and department policies.
  • Contribute to a positive, team-oriented kitchen environment through clear communication and problem-solving.
  • Support and follow the culinary standards of Union City Market, Hook & Fork, Alderbrook Resort & Spa, and the broader Culinary Department.

Qualifications

  • Required | 3+ years line cook experience
  • Desirable | 1+ years' experience in a non-traditional cooking setting
  • Flexible work availability including weekends required
  • Equivalent education, skills, and/or experience necessary to perform the essential functions may be considered

Required Permits & Certifications

  • WA Food Worker Card required within 14 days after hire
  • WA Class 12/13 Alcohol Server Permit (MAST) required within 60 days after hire
  • Valid drivers license and satisfactory driving record

Physical Demands & Work Environment

  • Physical Demands . The employee is regularly required to talk, hear, stand for extended periods, walk, sit, climb stairs, demonstrate hand dexterity, reach, stoop, kneel, bend, twist, push, pull, or crouch. They must occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds and frequently lift or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close and distance vision. The role may also require sustained visual and mental concentration.
  • Work Environment . Conditions are primarily outdoors, with exposure to heat, cold, and temperature variations in an uncontrolled setting. The position involves moderate noise levels and occasional exposure to certain chemicals. Responsibilities include cooking over an open flame, requiring all necessary safety precautions when handling fire.
