Job Title: Janitor
Department: Maintenance
Work Hours: 1st Shift; Monday – Friday, 5:00 AM to 3:30 PM
Compensation: $19–$21 per hour
Summary of Responsibilities:
Keeps working areas in production and office departments of the industrial facility clean, safe, and orderly by performing janitorial duties and supporting general maintenance efforts in a heavy manufacturing/foundry environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Clean and sanitize restrooms, locker rooms, and break areas.
- Sweep, mop, or dry floors, including production walkways and common areas.
- Clean rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, corridors, and other assigned areas.
- Wash walls, ceilings, windows, doors, and sills.
- Empty trash and recycling containers; transport waste to designated disposal or recycling areas.
- Replenish bathroom and breakroom supplies as needed.
- Maintain sidewalk safety during winter months, including snow removal and salting.
- Pick up refuse from plant grounds and maintain exterior cleanliness.
- Follow all safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE when working in or around production areas.
- Assist with light maintenance tasks or special cleaning projects as assigned.

- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions.
- Ability to effectively communicate in one-on-one settings.
- Basic math skills
- Ability to follow one- or two-step instructions and apply common-sense reasoning.
- Able to function in routine, standardized work environments.
Physical Requirements:
- Frequently required to walk, stand, talk, and hear.
- Use of close vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Frequently lift/move up to 10 lbs; occasionally lift/move up to 25 lbs.
- Must be able to work in hot, loud, and dusty environments typical of a foundry setting.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Good attendance record.
- Ability to follow Baker Manufacturing procedures and policies.
- Must possess or be able to obtain a valid forklift operator’s license.
