This is an on-call intermittent position and there are no guaranteed number of hours.

  • Provide cleaning and maintenance services to offices, buildings and restrooms around the campus.
  • Perform routine preventive cleaning activities including high dusting, specialized cleaning of carpet, vinyl tile, resilient floor and concrete surfaces; and restocking supplies in bathroom areas in a fast-paced, crowded environment.
  • Provide uplifting customer service while answering general customer questions. Contact with the public can be extensive, depending on the shift.
  • Clean light fixtures and change lamps as directed.
  • Handle and dispose of litter, garbage and recycling, including the removal of contaminated materials.
  • Transport materials, equipment and supplies required to complete assigned work.
  • Maintain equipment in a clean and sanitary condition.
  • Assist with routine building and facility maintenance.
  • Assist with moving furniture and other objects.
  • Report and remove graffiti from various surfaces.
  • May be required to operate riding commercial floor scrubbers, high speed floor burnishers, carpet shampooers, and other small to high-capacity cleaning equipment.

Work Environment/Physical Demands:

  • Ability to stand, walk, or bend for extended periods of time to perform full range of duties.
  • Ability to frequently lift and carry 25 pounds and must be able to lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Shifts are generally during evenings, weekends, holidays and early mornings.

This is an intermittent/on-call position. Hours are dependent on event schedules at Seattle Center.

The full salary range for this position is $27.16 - $27.16 per hour. Temporary employees begin at step 1, which is $27.16 hourly. Intermittent employees do not get salary step increases. You'll also get premium pay that increases the more hours you work. (Starts at an additional 5% on top of your base rate, up to 25%!)
