Job Description

Join the team at Cedar Grove Cemetery in service of our sacred mission to honor and care for the departed and their loved ones. This role supports the daily operations of the cemetery through burial preparation, groundskeeping, and compassionate service to families during their time of need.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare cremation graves and assist with in-ground burials, above-ground entombments, and inurnments.
Safely remove and replace mausoleum shutters for engraving and inscription purposes.
Maintain the cemetery grounds, including mowing, weeding, leaf removal, and caring for trees, shrubs, and flower beds.
Apply herbicides and perform seasonal duties such as snow and ice removal.
Maintain the appearance and cleanliness of the chapel and mausoleum complex.
Operate and maintain lawn care equipment, small machinery, and cemetery vehicles.
Perform additional duties as assigned to support cemetery operations.

Qualifications

Ability to perform physically demanding tasks and lift heavy objects.
Experience with or willingness to learn the operation of lawn care tools, equipment, and small machinery.
Dependability and punctuality in a team-oriented work environment.
Respectful demeanor, sensitivity, and compassion for grieving families.
Comfort working in a cemetery environment and commitment to upholding the dignity of the space.
Willingness and ability to learn new skills as needed.

Additional Information

Application Deadline to Apply: August 4, 2025

Hiring Pay Range: $19 - $22 per hour
