The laundry attendants play a crucial role in maintaining the quality of sorted, dirty linens throughout the washing and drying processes. They are integral to the housekeeping department, where their primary responsibility is to ensure that all linens are meticulously cleaned and well-maintained.

Essential Functions:

  • Ensures a fun-filled and exciting environment where the flawless delivery and execution of service excellence is paramount.
  • Is responsible for the removal of all foreign materials from linens and uniforms.
  • Disposes of foreign materials in accordance with established procedures.
  • Separate and wash linen, sheets, pillowcases, face/bath towels, mop heads, cleaning towels and other laundry items for hotel and/or other departments as needed
  • Sorts soiled laundry based on type and degree of soil.
  • Inspects all linen for quality, checking for stains, wrinkles, and overall fabric condition/appearance.
  • Hangs garments on racks.
  • Pulls/pushes full and empty laundry carts.
  • Completes all necessary paperwork in a timely manner.
  • Always maintains work areas and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Report maintenance issues to immediate supervisor; monitor performance of laundry machines
  • Follows all established safety and security guidelines.
  • Acts as a role model to other employees and always presents oneself as a credit to Harrahs and encourages others to do the same.
  • Adheres to all regulatory, company and department policies and procedures.
  • Completes all other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to uphold and demonstrate the highest level of integrity in all situations and recognize standards required by a regulated business.
  • Must be 18 years of age.
  • Experience in laundry distribution, sorting, packing, counting is preferred.
  • Must be a team player.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to push/pull/lift heavy laundry bundles and/or tanks.
  • Able to work a flexible shift to include nights, holidays and weekends.

Physical, Mental, and Environmental Demand:

  • Position requires 35% standing, 5% sitting, 60% walking.
  • Lifts up to a maximum of 50 pounds and frequently lifts and/or carries up to 25 pounds.
  • Requires frequent kneeling, stooping, reaching over head and very frequent bending, pushing, twisting and climbing.
  • Must be able to read, understand and tolerate the usage of cleaning chemicals.
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced, stressful environment.
  • Must have the manual dexterity to operate cleaning equipment and machines.
  • Must be able to work in areas containing secondary smoke, high noise levels, bright lights and dust.
  • Requires the ability to respond to speech, touch, smell, aural and visual cues.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Earn between $16.00 per hour.
