Mercadito is currently seeking a fast, focused, and guest-oriented Runner to join our Front of House team.

Opened in 2010, Mercadito made a splash in Chicagos River North neighborhood at 108 W. Kinzie St. with a vision to deliver elevated, authentic Mexican cuisine alongside expertly crafted tequila and mezcal cocktails.

Voted one of the top Mexican restaurants in Chicago, Mercadito is known for its vibrant flavors, seasonal guacamoles, and fresh, made-from-scratch ingredients including our handmade tortillas and signature salsas. Our service team plays a key role in delivering that experience by ensuring guests receive their food accurately, quickly, and with care.

• Deliver food and drinks from the kitchen or bar to guests promptly and accurately

• Confirm that all dishes match guest orders before delivery

• Communicate clearly with servers and kitchen team to ensure smooth coordination

• Describe dishes upon delivery when needed and answer basic guest questions

• Ensure all plates, utensils, and accompaniments are presented correctly

• Help maintain cleanliness and organization in expo and service areas

• Assist with table maintenance, including refilling water and clearing empty plates

• Follow all health, sanitation, and safety protocols

• Work quickly and efficiently in a high-volume environment

• Support servers and bartenders in providing an exceptional guest experience

• Anticipate guest and team needs before being asked

• Communicate effectively with the kitchen and FOH team

• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organization

• Complete all assigned side work and running duties before, during, and after shifts

• Contribute to a positive and professional team culture
