Position: Park and Grounds Custodian

Qualifications:

1. Education Level: A minimum of a high school diploma, its equivalent, or

demonstrated proficiency through previous job experience and/or training in

related performance responsibilities listed below.

2. Certification: None required

3. Experience Desired: None required

4. Other Requirements: The ability to lift fifty (50) pounds is an essential job

requirement. Able to read and interpret basic cleaning supplies directions and/or

instructions. Capable of physical exertion to manually lift, push, pull, bend and

carry heavy objects and materials. Must successfully pass a background check

that is satisfactory to the Board of Education.

General Summary: The Parks and Grounds Custodian is responsible for the

maintenance and upkeep of Wolf Pack Park, recreational areas, and surrounding

grounds and landscaped areas, as well as assisting other campus departments during

non-peak park seasons. This role involves performing a variety of tasks to ensure

cleanliness, safety, and aesthetic appeal, including landscaping, litter removal,

equipment maintenance, and facility cleaning. The custodian will collaborate with team

members and management to uphold community standards and promote a positive

environment for visitors. Attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to

sustainability are essential for success in this position. The ideal candidate will have a

passion for outdoor work and a dedication to enhancing the school's green spaces

Performance Responsibilities:

1. Plan and prioritize daily work to maintain park and other landscaped areas at a

high standard

2. Operate mowers, tractors, vehicles and other small equipment

3. Utilize a variety of hand and power tools in landscape maintenance

4. Assist in routine maintenance of such equipment

5. Maintain landscape, including trees, shrubs, lawn, and other natural features

6. Prepare and maintain athletic fields and related facilities

7. Clean restrooms and pick up litter around park

8. Perform general maintenance, construction and repair of park and recreational

facilities

9. Assist with successful execution and completion of Park and District events

10.Maintain accurate records of time, materials and equipment used

11. Maintain a positive, customer focused image of the Reeds Spring School District

12.Respond to user concerns, problems, or complaints in a timely manner

13.Assist with other District Departments as workload dictates, specifically related to

building custodial needs and general campus maintenance

14.Perform a variety of duties with event preparation, cleaning and upkeep of the

Park as well as all other Parks related facilities and equipment

15.Performs all duties with appropriate safety and security standards

16.Other duties assigned by Superintendent or designee
