Head Bartender

El camino is a new neighborhood bar in the heart of the east village, created by the team behind Mister Paradise and Electric Burrito. We are currently looking to bring on a head bartender who will be working a combination of bartending and floor/maitred shifts. This person should have a deep love for hospitality and a strong desire to build a lasting community around our bar.

Our ideal candidate has a strong knowledge base in classic cocktails, spirits, wine, and beer, and should have experience both in high volume bartending and management of a room.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Curating atmosphere of the space (lighting, music, etc.)

Liaisoning between bar team and ownership

Ensuring consistency and quality of product

Training new team members

Building weekly Schedule

Ordering wine, beer, spirits, and bar produce

Overseeing bar prep and setting/adjusting pars

Bartending early week shifts

Running the door and overseeing the floor on weekends

Troubleshooting POS

A Food Handlers Permit issued by the NY Department of Health is required.
