Private Family in Great Neck, NY Seeking a Housekeeper/Cook Position: Part-Time Live-Out Housekeeper/Cook Schedule: Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays 9am - 5pm (25 hours) Salary: $35/hour Start Date: September 1st About the Family A warm and welcoming private family located in Great Neck, NY is looking to hire a dedicated and professional Housekeeper/Cook to support their household. The family consists of a couple with college-age children who are occasionally home during the summer . They value discretion, clear communication, and someone who can manage responsibilities independently while maintaining a calm presence. Responsibilities Daily housekeeping including dusting, vacuuming, mopping, deep cleaning, and general tidiness of 3500 sq ft. home Organizing closets, cabinets, and other storage areas Laundry and ironing, including proper care of clothing and linens Meal prep and cooking , especially for Friday night dinners Maintain a clean and organized kitchen; knowledge of kosher kitchen a plus (willing to train) Run errands such as grocery shopping and dry cleaning (family car available) Greet and direct vendors or maintenance professionals and communicate repair needs Maintain respectful boundaries while the wife works from home Ideal Candidate & Personality The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, and comfortable working independently. They enjoy cooking and are open to learning about kosher practices if unfamiliar. A calm, quiet presence is important in this home, along with the ability to read the room and maintain professionalism. Strong communication skills, trustworthiness, and discretion are essential. Requirements Prior experience in a similar role in a private household Legal to work in the United States Driver's license and clean driving record (preferred) Willing to learn kosher kitchen practices Strong communication and organizational skills
