Summary Supporting both Patient Services and the Diet Office, this position is responsible for serving patient trays on assigned units while demonstrating a commitment to excellence. Provides communication to patients regarding menu selections. Provides hospitable service to all patients while complying with dietary restrictions. Interacts with the nursing staff to obtain information related to patients' dietary needs to ensure provision of high quality service. Assists the Dietitians with the support needed to ensure that each patient receives the correct diet-related foods. Minimum Qualifications High school graduate or equivalent. Fundamental understanding of personal computers and familiarity with the Windows operating system and ability to operate and enter information into a computer tablet. One year of customer service experience. Ability to read and follow written and oral instructions. Demonstrated ability to practice AIDET, customer focused communication that promotes the culture and values of the Hospital. Ability to remain calm and professional during periods of peak patient census. Preferred Qualifications Three to six months of commercial or institutional food service experience.
