Position Description Summary/Purpose:

This position supervises the custodial services for the University Campus and School Buildings. This position primarily supervises routine cleaning and maintenance operations. This position must also perform various cleaning and maintenance tasks.

Full-Time Shift: 6:30 am - 3:00 pm

Essential Job Functions/Primary Responsibilities:

  • Performs routine custodial services as needed, performs general maintenance in school buildings such as change urinal cartridge, special soap refills, hand sanitizer refills, dispenser batteries, as well as minor repairs as needed, etc.
  • Responsible for loading dock, ordering supplies, replenishing supply closets, deliver copy paper to various offices and delivers UPS and office supply packages to the appropriate offices.
  • Provides event set-ups as needed.
  • Provides guidance and direction to other custodial personnel and ensures the safe handling of all cleaning supplies and equipment.
  • Conducts all work in a safe manner and ensures all work safety practices are followed.

Other Functions:

  • Performs similar or related work as required, directed or as situation permits.
  • Continues professional development and training; keeps current with trends.
  • Assists other department staff as needed to promote a team effort.

  • Knowledge of custodial services and cleaning, operation of cleaning equipment and good supervisory skills

Qualifications

Minimum Required Qualifications:

Education, Training and Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED with two years of relevant experience in custodial services and maintenance or six months on the job experience.
  • Passing of pre-employment screening

Special Requirements:

  • CT Driver's license and insured vehicle
