Busch Vacuum Solutions has an immediate direct hire opportunity open for an experienced Custodian-Cleaner at our manufacturing plant in Virginia Beach, Virginia!

The Custodian-Cleaner is responsible for performing janitorial duties and maintains cleaning supplies, assists with the setup of meetings, classrooms, conferences and events.

Job Responsibilities

• Collects and dispose of garbage and recyclables in all restrooms, canteens and offices
• Cleans canteen tables, countertops, refrigerators and microwaves
• Checks and refill paper towel dispensers, toilet tissues and sanitary napkin dispensers
• Stores and reorder janitorial supplies
• Sweeps and mop tile floors
• Vacuums all carpet areas
• Dusts all ledges, windowsills, and pictures
• Cleans all drinking fountains
• Sanitizes all toilets and urinals
• Reports all water leaks and lights which are not working
• Cleans carpets as needed
• Scrubs tile floors in shop bathrooms
• Cleans windows
• Assists with the setup of meetings, classrooms, conferences and events
• Confirms all non-essential electrical appliances are turned off (e.g. coffee pots, fans, space heaters)
• Shuts off all lights not in use and sets security in designated areas.

Required Experience

• 6 months plus experience with custodial work: Required
• High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED): Required
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook): Required
• Valid Drivers, license must be maintained throughout employment that meets Busch Insurance standards.

• Possess strong oral and written communication skills in English

Job Requirements

• Ability and willingness to pass a 10-panel drug screen, 7-year criminal history check

• Most felonies are a disqualifier, misdemeanors are considered on a case-by-case basis

• Must be willing and able to utilize all required PPE

• Ability and willingness to travel (up to 5%) domestically and internationally

Physical Requirements

• Constant reaching outward, lifting/carrying/pushing pulling up to 15lbs
• Frequent standing, walking, sitting, lifting/carrying/pushing pulling up to 10lbs
• Occasional climbing, squatting, kneeling, reaching above the shoulder, and lifting/carrying/pushing pulling up to 25lbs
• All applicants must be able to hear and see audible and visual alarms and must be able to wear all required PPE, such as safety shoes, electrical hazards, safety glasses, and hearing protection.
