Job Summary
We are looking for passionate humans to join our small team! As a wine server, you will wee guests and deliver memorable experiences with genuine hospitality from start to finish. We are a neighborhood wine bar and market connected to a collaborative winery and small bed and breakfast offering a new approach to the world of wine. We work closely with the winemakers who are making a wide range of exciting and unusual wines with up to ten varietals on our list at a time (all made right in this building!). We are excited to wine with everyone, from wine tourists to locals and families. Our little spot has tons of outdoor space, and we really get going in the warmer months.
This is a part-time position pouring wine by the glass, hosting tastings and sharing our story with guests. We are looking for positive, enthusiastic, self-starters who are flexible and love working in a fast-paced environment. Candidates must be passionate about wine, have the desire to sell, and develop lasting relationships.
This is an opportunity to work in a beautiful and historic place, only 30 minutes from PDX this Summer and Fall, with the potential to transition to a year-round position based on performance and business needs.
Responsibilities
Create memorable experiences for all guests and members.
Provide exceptional customer service and ensure customer satisfaction throughout the entire experience, from reservation to shipping.
Handle daily operations: opening and closing duties, service, and daily transactions.
Host casual and educational tastings, conveying the story of wines and brands.
Educate guests on wines, our wine club, history, and culture.
Effectively suggest and sell wine, with the ability to upsell.
Proactivelymunicate the benefits of joining the wine club and encourage signups.
Build and foster relationships with customers to foster loyalty and repeat business.
Offer concierge-like services with local rmendations.
Handle transactions and reservations seamlessly, with great attention to detail.
Collect, input, and update guest information accurately and promptly.
Take initiative to do ongoing side tasks throughout the shift, as well as swiftly and thoroughlyplete opening and closing duties.
Assist with wine shipping, inventory & stock tasting room wine and merchandise.
Respond in a timely manner to guest inquiries, including emails and voicemails.
Requirements
Excellentmunication skills, both written and verbal.
Knowledge or ability to work with reservation and POS systems.
Be flexible, able to learn quickly, and able to readily adapt to change.
A genuine passion for wine and a talent for sharing that passion with others.
Exceptional interpersonal skills, making every guest feel special.
A love for customer service, with a dedication to meeting and exceeding expectations.
Qualifications
Minimum one-year experience and/or related experience and training.
Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and evenings.
Valid Food Handlers card and OLCC permit.
Ability to stand and work at a fast pace for 8 hours per day.
Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly and frequently.
What We Offer
Hourly pay of $17-18/hour depending on experience.
Tip pooling and club signup bonus.
Part-time, 12-20 hours per week.
