Job Details Ballyhoo Hospitality Group is seeking an energetic, hospitality focused Host to join our Sophia Steak Restaurant team in Lake Forest.
Concept Overview:
At Sophia Steak, we relish the pleasure of a great steak. Its our thing, but its far from the only thing. Our kitchen also serves the freshest seafood, big crunchy salads, delicious sides, daily specials and a terrific burger. We set the bar high for everything we do, but we stop short of fancy. Paired with personalized service, a comfortable room that feels like home, and top notch hospitality, Sophia Steak is the neighborhood steakhouse for the Lake Forest
Job Summary:
The Host role is pivotal in creating a positive first impression for our guests. The ideal candidate will be pleasant, detail-oriented, and consistently professional, possessing strong hospitality instincts and a genuine drive to exceed guest expectations. Success in this role requires the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, communicate effectively, and contribute to smooth service operations and the delivery of high-quality service.

Job Requirements & Qualifications: Primary duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Create and maintain a strong connection to the guests and community.
- Exude warmth and hospitality in all interactions.
- Drive sales and covers through acute management of reservation software
- Ensure the overall guest experience exceeds expectations and build relationships with guests while encouraging regulars.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both with guests and team members.
- Serve guests as part of a team by anticipating their needs, initiating conversation, offering assistance and advice.
- Ability to work cohesively with co-workers both front and back of the house.
- Ability to learn the menu and and comfortably guide the guest
- Passion to learn and participate in daily food and beverage training.
- Proficiency in Restaurant reservation systems
- Ability to maintain a clean working environment.
- Must pass general information and food and beverage quizzes.
- May perform other duties as assigned.
- ServSafe and BASSETT/TIPS Certified.
- Night and weekend availability is required.
