Full-time | $80,000$85,000/year | 5 days/week (ThursMon)
Island Restaurant is a beloved neighborhood spot on the Upper East Side, known for its warm hospitality, loyal regulars, and long-standing team. Were looking for a Restaurant Manager who can lead our daily service and staff while embracing our guest-focused, collaborative culture.
This is a floor-focused roleideal for someone poised, hands-on, and passionate about hospitality. Were not looking for a disruptorwere looking for a leader who can integrate with our seasoned team, improve our operational systems, and help us grow.
- Full-time, 5 days/week
- Tuesdays & Wednesdays off
- Typical hours: 11:30 AM 9:30 PM
- Saturday & Sunday shifts begin at 11:00 AM
Service Leadership
- Be present and hands-on during service, shifting as needed between host stand, expo, floor, or guest relations
- Build real relationships with guestsespecially regulars
- Set a calm, professional tone and lead by example
- Collaborate with Maitre D to manage floor flow and guest pacing
- Ensure dining room stays guest-ready and organized
- Create weekly FOH schedules (7shifts)
- Review and correct time clocks; coordinate with bookkeeper on payroll
- Communicate clearly with staff before each service
- Support hiring and training; maintain a positive team culture
- Manage supply inventory (paper goods, guest-facing items)
- Troubleshoot POS, printer, or tech issues
- Assist with beverage and bar ordering
- Update menus and pricing across POS, ChowNow, and website
- 2+ years of restaurant management or strong FOH leadership
- Experience in NYC hospitality preferred
- Calm, poised leadership stylecommands respect and earns trust
- Hands-on and humblewilling to jump in wherever needed
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Comfortable stepping into an established culture and team
- Salary: $80,000$85,000, based on experience
