POSITION OVERVIEW
Oakwood Village is seeking a Storeroom Porter to work in our dining services department at our far east side campus, Oakwood Village Prairie Ridge. This position is scheduled Monday through Friday during normal business hours. Great opportunity for someone that is looking to grow into an exciting new role with Oakwood!
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES of a Storeroom Porter (including but not limited to):
Responsibilities include receiving, storage and inventory of all departmental supplies, maintaining sanitation in storage areas and requisitioning items and transporting to all areas of the department.
1. Inventories and maintains necessary food and other supplies to ensure an efficient operation of the dining department.
2. Stores food and supplies in correct containers and in proper storage areas according to department guideline
- Maintains sanitation in storage areas and requisitioning items and transporting to all areas of the department.
- Inventories and maintains necessary food and other supplies to ensure an efficient operation of the dining department.
- Stores food and supplies in correct containers and in proper storage areas according to department guidelines as indicates by non-spoilage of food.
- Maintains records and logs documenting storage temperatures of perishable food items on a daily basis.
- Dates, labels, and rotates stock according to procedures as indicated by oldest product being utilized first.
- Orders food and supplies based upon product specification as established by the Oakwood ordering protocols and procedures. 6. Secures designated areas of potential theft, dangerous chemicals, supplies, and equipment to safeguard employees.
- Transports food and supplies in appropriate containers as indicated by food or supplies arriving safely and intact.
- Follows HACCP guidelines when receiving and distributing food supplies to ensure quality and safety of food supply.
- Complies with federal, state and local health and sanitation regulations and department sanitation procedures.
- Maintains a clean, sanitary working environment in all areas.
- Reports needed maintenance or repairs of equipment used.
- Completes daily, weekly, and monthly reports as outlined in the corporate policies and procedures on a timely basis meeting all prescribed deadlines.
- Identifies and utilizes cleaning chemicals following directions recommended by manufacturers and per MDS sheets.
- Utilizes equipment in performing job functions according to department safety procedures.
- Follows facility, department, and Oakwood safety policies and procedures to include incident reporting.
- Performs other tasks as assigned.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS of a Storeroom Porter
- Some knowledge of quantity of food production.
- Effectively plans, prioritizes, and organizes work.
- Communicates effectively with residents and staff members.
- Adheres to established policies and procedures.
- Adheres to Oakwood's code of conduct and fosters a team approach in meeting the mission of Oakwood.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING or EDUCATION of a Storeroom Porter
High school education or equivalency preferred.
