Job Description

The Production Cook 1 is responsible for executing high-quality food production across banquet and outlet operations. As a key leader on the line, this position supports daily prep and service, upholds food safety and presentation standards, and provides support to the Banquet and Outlet operations. The Production Cook 1 plays an integral part in ensuring culinary consistency and efficiency, working closely with leadership to drive execution and team development.

Responsibilities
  • Must maintain regular attendance in compliance with Omni Standards as required by scheduling which will vary according to the needs of the hotel.
  • Lead production efforts for both outlet and banquet operations, as directed by leadership.
  • Set up and maintain station readiness at least 15 minutes prior to service start.
  • Execute all recipes and menu items accurately, consistently, and efficiently.
  • Ensure quality, taste, and visual presentation of all plated items meet Omni standards.
  • Work collaboratively with supervisors and chefs on daily prep lists, timelines, and execution strategies.
  • Assist with training new associates on station responsibilities, prep methods, and safety standards.
  • Operate multiple stations as needed and respond flexibly to service demands.
  • Maintain proper food handling, labeling, and rotation standards in accordance with EcoSure and Omni policies.
  • Communicate proactively regarding shortages, prep needs, or station concerns.
  • Uphold cleanliness and sanitation standards across kitchen, walk-ins, and storage areas.
  • Maintain accurate cooking times and temperatures to ensure food safety.
  • Perform work assignments with a sense of urgency, professionalism, and efficiency.
  • Follow all proper storage procedures when taking food out of walk-in and when returning food to walk-in.
  • Participate in banquet event production, outlet line execution, and special culinary initiatives.
  • Adhere to Omni appearance, attendance, and behavioral standards at all times.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned by leadership.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 1 year of professional kitchen experience required, preferably in high-volume banquet or restaurant operations.
  • Strong technical skills in prep, cooking, station execution, and plating.
  • Proficient knife skills required, including the ability to fabricate proteins and vegetables efficiently.
  • Demonstrated ability to support and coach junior team members.
  • Working knowledge of food safety and sanitation protocols.
  • Able to work in fast-paced, high-pressure environments with composure and focus.
  • Must be able to work indoor and outdoor environments with fluctuating temperatures.
  • Able to lift/push/pull up to 50 pounds, stand for 8+ hours, and perform frequent bending, stooping, and walking.
  • Flexible schedule availability including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Required: Harris County Food Handlers Certificate.
  • Must supply and maintain personal tools: chefs knife, paring knife, boning knife, and vegetable peeler.
  • Must demonstrate professionalism, accountability, and a collaborative spirit.
