Davis County Facilities is currently hiring for Building Maintenance Worker ll, Journey Maintenance Worker in Farmington, Utah. This position performs performs a variety of skilled and semiskilled duties in the maintenance of County facilities and grounds.

Requirements

Building Maintenance Worker ll

• High school graduation (or equivalent)
• Four years of full-time directly related experience in industrial or public facility maintenance; an acceptable combination of education and experience may be considered.
• Obtain a forklift certification within six months of hire date as required by the position.

Journey Maintenance Specialist

• High school graduation (or equivalent)

• Six years of full-time directly related experience in industrial or public facility maintenance, two (2) years of which must include specific journey level experience in one of the following trade areas: plumbing, electrical, carpentry, heating/air conditioning (HVAC), welding or a related building trade industry; an acceptable combination of education and experience may be considered.

• Journey level license as an electrician (may be Journeyman or Master Electrician) or a plumber (may be Journeyman Plumber or Master Plumber. Journey license must be issued by the Utah Division of Occupational and Professional Licensing. Or a certification in at least one of the following trade areas: carpentry, HVAC, or welding.

• Obtain a forklift certification within six (6) months of hire date as required by the position.

Day to Day Duties

• Performs carpentry work in remodeling and maintaining facilities; builds and installs cabinets, shelves, repairs furniture; paints facilities.
• Assists in the following duties: snow removal, landscape maintenance, outdoor lighting, painting, carpentry, and custodial functions.
• Maintains equipment, saws, drills, and other equipment.
• Operate in a safe manner motor vehicles and equipment: forklift, tractor, mule, skid loader, gravely power broom, hand tools.
• Performs electrical and plumbing maintenance; installs and repairs faucets, toilets, water fountains, repairs light fixtures, switches and motors.
• Assists in the maintenance and repair of the heating and air conditioning systems.
• Monitors fire sprinkling system, fuel system, commercial boiler, water softeners, commercial plumbing and ground sprinkler systems.
