Building Maintenance Worker Job Requirements and Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with the compliance of preventive maintenance schedules of HVAC, electrical and plumbing systems. Performing repairs and preventive maintenance on various types of fitness equipment to include treadmills, cross trainers, spin and recumbent bikes, strength machines, and free weight equipment.
  • Performing minor painting, carpentry, electrical, plumbing repairs inside the building as well as outside, i.e. outdoor pool grounds, restrooms, light fixtures, etc. (not requiring a license).
  • Cleaning, maintaining, and servicing tools/equipment.
  • Picking up trash in and around the facilities, cleaning areas as needed, i.e. mop, sweep, dust, etc.
  • Assisting with special events and performing a variety of tasks as needed.
  • Set-up, break down and storing program equipment that weigh up to 50 pounds, i.e. tables, chairs, and other equipment.
  • Moving and assembling or disassembling furniture as needed.
  • Washing windows and glass fixtures on regular schedule.
  • Driving between job sites and/or vendor locations.
  • Providing positive and enthusiastic customer service to all Members and guests.

Working hours are Monday – Sunday with varying hours. Flexible scheduling is available. Benefits include a free membership to The Pointe.

Building Maintenance Worker Qualifications / Skills:

  • Positive attitude and a passion for working with children.
  • Comfortable working with people of all ages and backgrounds.
  • Working knowledge of company safety protocols and ability to administer minor medical care.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, flexibility skills, and attention to detail.
  • Physical stamina and ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
  • Must have reliable method of transportation, and valid driver’s license.
  • Must have physical ability to work outdoors, lift up to 50 pounds, load, move, and set up various equipment needed for the event or class.
  • The ability to read labels, instructions, work orders and blueprints. Write monthly reports for project management.
  • One-year experience in maintenance, repair and operation of all types of tools, building/office equipment, and cleaning equipment.

Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Current lnfant/Child/Adult CPR and First Aid with AED certification from Jeff Ellis & Associates, American Red Cross, or American Heart Association required or ability to obtain upon employment offer.
