Title: On-Call Houseman Reports to: Housekeeping Manager Who We Are Welcome to The Ned NoMad, a sophisticated members' club and hotel nestled in the heart of New York City. As the first international outpost of The Ned, we proudly opened our doors in Summer 2022, following the iconic debut of The Ned London in 2017.

The Property Set in the historic Johnston Building, formerly the NoMad Hotel, our property boasts a rich legacy dating back to 1903. With design expertise from the Soho House Design team, we've lovingly preserved the building's original charm while infusing it with a fresh, contemporary style.

At The Ned NoMad, we offer an eclectic mix of exclusive and public spaces, including 167 elegantly appointed bedrooms and suites, a lively rooftop bar and terrace restaurant, a first-floor bar, grill, and lounge, and nightly live entertainment at The Atrium Stage. Our public dining options include Cecconis, a modern-day classic Italian restaurant inspired by mid-century Trattorias, and Little Ned, a chic spot for handcrafted cocktails and bar classics with views of the Empire State Building.

The Role A Houseman is responsible for providing guests services in the hotel and offering Full Service and Turndown Service for guests in an efficient manner that is aligned with the luxury standards of the hotel. Primary Responsibilities
  • Maintain cleanliness and presentation of guest corridors, service areas, and public spaces through sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting.
  • Support Room Attendants by replenishing linens, amenities, and supplies in housekeeping closets and carts on each floor.
  • Respond promptly to guest and team member requests for additional items via radio, Knowcross, or other hotel communication systems.
  • Deliver guest requests such as extra towels, amenities, rollaway beds, and cribs in a timely and courteous manner.
  • Ensure all turndown supplies and amenities are stocked and distributed to appropriate floors daily.
  • Refill and distribute water bottles to guest rooms, ensuring each room receives at least two per turndown service.
  • Remove used linen, trash, and recyclables from guest rooms and corridors and transport to designated disposal areas.
  • Assist with deep-cleaning tasks and special projects as assigned by the Housekeeping Manager or Supervisor.
  • Notify management of any maintenance issues, safety hazards, or equipment malfunctions.
  • Follow all health, safety, and hygiene protocols, ensuring compliance with company standards.
  • Promote teamwork and clear communication with colleagues and other departments.
  • Participate in daily briefings, department meetings, and ongoing training as requested.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and service standards.
Requirements
  • Must be able to seize, grasp, turn, and hold objects with hands.
  • Must be able to make fast-paced periodical movements are required to go from one part of the property to others.
  • Must be able to move, pull, carry, or lift at least 20 pounds.
  • Must be able to kneel, bend, crouch occasionally, and climb if required.
  • Must be able to perform physical activities such as lifting, cleaning, and stooping.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, lift, and bend for long periods.
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, lift, reach, push, twist, walk, crouch, and squat.
Qualifications
  • A candidate for this position must possess the following applicable knowledge, skills, and abilities and demonstrate and provide relevant examples to support their competencies.
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision and maintain a high level of performance.
  • Prioritization and time management skills.
  • Working quickly without compromising quality.
  • Must be able to access all areas of the property across varied terrain and footing.
  • Must be able to multi-task and display the ability to recognize that the guests' interests and needs are always primary. Must be able to lift at least 20 lbs. regularly. Must be able to access all areas of the property across varied terrain and footing.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of job-related processes and systems.
  • Must be able to work a flexible work schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must possess a professional presentation.
  • Highly responsible and reliable.

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
  • The person having this position may have to lift up to 50lbs on a daily basis
  • The person having this position may have to sit for one (1) hour, stand and/or walk, push, kneel, bend, balance, squat, reach and stretch for eight (8) or more hours per day
