Job Description

The main function of a Custodial Technician is to perform cleaning services and maintain the overall condition of the building or space. This role involves ensuring a clean and healthy facility by completing various tasks and adhering to standard operating procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform cleaning services per scope and follow standard operating procedures where applicable.
• Maintain a clean and healthy facility by completing tasks such as mopping, vacuuming floors, high and low dusting, deep cleaning, disinfecting multiple surfaces and restrooms, and appropriate disposal of waste receptacles daily, including recyclables.
• Complete deep cleans, office restoration, and special projects as requested by building managerial teams.
• Verify that proper chemicals are used for each designated area assigned.
• Organize and maintain janitor closets, supply storage, and cleaning equipment.
• Notify management of deficiencies, safety concerns, and repair needs.

• Interpersonal skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to continuously stand and walk throughout the workday.
• Skilled in using computer applications.
• Ability to read, write, and understand documentation in English.

• Basic knowledge of cleaning equipment and supplies.
• Ability to follow safety procedures and guidelines.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Technical degree or certification preferred.
• 0-2 years of experience required.

The position is located at the Medical Research Center in Ashburn, VA, at the Janelia Farm Campus. The work hours during summer are from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, with slight changes in the fall. The role is Monday to Friday, providing a structured schedule.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Ashburn, Virginia.

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
