Job Summary

Summary: WE ARE SEEKING ENERGETIC AND DEPENDABLE COLD FOOD PREP COOKS TO SUPPORT OUR CULINARY TEAM DURING UTAH JAZZ & UTAH MAMMOTH GAMES AND SPECIAL EVENTS. THE COLD FOOD PREP COOK WILL ASSIST IN PREPARING COLD FOOD INGREDIENTS, ASSEMBLING MENU ITEMS, AND ENSURING ALL FOOD STATIONS ARE READY FOR SERVICE. THE IDEAL CANDIDATE IS ORGANIZED, DETAIL ORIENTED, AND ABLE TO WORK EFFECIENTLY IN A FAST-PACED, HIGH-VOLUME ENVIRONMENT TO DELIVERING QUALITY FOOD EXPERIENCES FOR OUR GUESTS.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ingredient preparation: washing, chopping, slicing, dicing, and measuring fruits, vegetables, and other ingredients according to recipes and chef instructions.
  • Cold food preparation: preparing cold dishes like salads, appetizers, and desserts, including assembling ingredients and ensuring proper presentation.
  • Sauce and Dressing preparation: Making sauces, dressings, and other cold condiments as needed.
  • Food storage and handling: Ensuring proper storage of ingredientsand prepared food items, following food safety and sanitation guidelines.
  • Station Maintenance: Maintaining a clean and organized workstation, including cleaning and sanitizing equipment and surfaces.
  • Assisting Chefs: Helping with various tasks during food preparation, as directed by the chef or kitchen manager

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Knife Skills: Proficient in various cutting techniques (e.g. Julienne, Chiffonade)
  • Food Safety Knowledge: Understanding of food safety and sanitation guidelines.
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights.
  • Attention to Detail: Ensuring accuracy in measurements and preparation.
  • Communication and Teamwork: Ability to communicate effectively with other kitchen staff.
  • Organizing and Time Management: Ability to work efficiently and maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  • Must obtain valid Utah Food Handlers Permit or Food Safety Manager Certificate.
