SALARY: Starting wage of

$17.93 to $22.08 per hour, depending on experience.

JOB DESCRIPTION: Under general supervision, to perform routine cleaning and maintenance duties in school buildings and care of grounds. Coordinates custodial services with lead custodian in the building.Custodial positions are full time, 12 month positions: Monday through Friday. Hours for this position are 2 - 10:30 PM.

This position requires a commitment to fostering a supportive learning environment for all students. The successful candidate will demonstrate a dedication to ensuring all students have the opportunity to succeed, recognizing and addressing barriers to academic achievement.

QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or equivalent.Some experience in custodial work.Experience working in a public education K-12 setting preferred.Knowledge of: Modern cleaning methods and the use and care of cleaning materials and equipment.Requirements for maintaining school buildings in a safe, clean, and orderly condition.Operation of a heating plant and equipment.Irrigation system.

Ability to: Use hand and power tools utilized in custodian and grounds maintenance work.Use hand and power tools in the performance of semiskilled building maintenance tasks.Perform heavy physical labor, which includes stretching, bending, standing, walking, climbing stairs, ladders and scaffolds, lifting up to 100 lbs. maximum.Read, understand and carry out oral and written directions.Maintain cooperative communications with students, the public and fellow employees.Make minor repairs.
