The Admissions Event Coordinator is responsible for supporting the Office of Admissions, primarily focused on the development and execution of yield focused admissions activities with particular focus on:
- Serving as the strategic lead for all University Admissions events-on-campus, off-campus, and virtual-overseeing the end-to-end process, including event planning, staffing, budget management, coordination, and execution to ensure alignment with enrollment objectives and institutional priorities.
- Serve as primary point of contact for the Community Engagement committee. Assist with planning events off campus in and out of the state of West Virginia, budgeting, making contacts, marketing, and execution of events.
- Support Admissions Counselors in strategically planning and executing recruitment and yield events within their designated territories, ensuring the completion of at least one high-impact event per counselor each academic year to drive enrollment outcomes.
- Independently design, manage, and execute high-impact events and information sessions tailored to prospective families and large groups, ensuring alignment with institutional goals and maximizing engagement.
- Manage all aspects of campus visit programs, Open Houses, and Receptions.
- Responsible for follow-up communications pre and post program with all prospective and applicants including family visitors.
- Conduct campus tours as needed.
- Evaluate program success through frequent assessment; provide reports to Leadership highlighting successes and recommendations for improvements.
- Partner with University Relations and Marketing to develop and implement targeted communication strategies for Admissions events, ensuring cohesive messaging, maximizing event visibility, and driving engagement across all channels to support enrollment objectives.
- Manage communication being executed through SLATE, USPS, and digital marketing.
- Complete the purchasing and requisitions for mailers and communications as it relates to events.
- Identify program needs and ideas for areas of Admissions and Enrollment Management.
- Collaborate closely with the Orientation Coordinator, Assistant Director of Student Life, Associate Director of Admissions and various colleagues to execute University-wide programs and provide necessary support.
- Develop and maintain a working knowledge of Fairmont State University policy, academic programs, history and associated details.
- Represent Fairmont State University in a professional manner at various functions as required. Evening, weekend, and night work is required at various times throughout the year.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Required Education
Bachelor's degree in a related field.

Minimum Required Qualifications
A minimum of one year of full-time work experience in higher education.
Candidate must be:
- Able to multi-task and function well in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceedingly customer service-driven.
- Proficient in general computer tasks.
- Knowledgeable of and proficient with Microsoft Office and associated programs.
- Proficient in public speaking and able to give presentations.
- Able to coordinate multiple tasks and detailed events.
- Able to communicate effectively with a wide range of people.
- Must have proven excellent organizational and planning skills and be responsive to feedback and committed to continuous improvement.
- Able to travel and work nights and weekends as required.
- Able to rapidly acquire knowledge of admissions, curricula, and record policies & procedures.
- Able to work independently and without close and detailed direction and supervision.
- Data Base and CRM previous experience is a plus.
