Job Title: Cook

Location: Cafe Mila, The Colony

Job Summary:

We are looking for a skilled and dependable Cook to join our kitchen team at Cafe Mila. The Cook will be responsible for preparing high-quality meals in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment. This role requires knowledge of basic cooking techniques, a passion for food, and the ability to work efficiently and cleanly during busy service hours.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and presentation standards

Set up and stock workstations with all necessary supplies (ingredients, utensils, equipment)

Ensure food is cooked and served at the proper temperature and portion size

Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen work areas, tools, and equipment

Follow food safety, hygiene, and sanitation procedures consistently

Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations during service

Monitor stock levels and communicate shortages to kitchen management

Assist with receiving, unpacking, and storing deliveries

Follow directions from the Owner/General Manager

Adapt to menu changes, dietary requirements, and special requests

Qualifications:

Prior experience as a cook in a cafe, bistro, or restaurant setting preferred

Familiarity with kitchen equipment and safe food handling practices

Ability to work under pressure in a high-volume environment

Good communication and teamwork skills

Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as needed

Bi-lingual preferred

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs

Comfortable working near hot surfaces and in a busy kitchen environment

Work Schedule:

Open from 7a - 3p daily | Shifts may include mornings, weekends, and holidays
