The Custodian/Maintenance Assistant helps maintain a thriving campus environment for our students and staff. Must have a keen eye for cleanliness and detail to ensure all areas are properly maintained. Working closely with the Director of Programs, this role will involve a variety of tasks such as janitorial, maintenance, and upkeep of HNS properties.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.
MUST pass a background check
Valid driver's license (no accidents or moving violations within the last three years)
Follow proper safety guidelines and protocols - especially in environments surrounding students
Monday through Friday schedule - potential weekend work as needed Must be able to work independently and be detail oriented
Ability to lift up to 60 lbs. or other heavy objects.
Ability to stand or walk for extended periods of time.
Excellent time management skills
Experience in maintaining cleanliness and order.
Experience in performing basic maintenance tasks such as changing lightbulbs, fixing leaky faucets and reporting major repair needs to supervisors.
Responsibilities:
Maintain and clean the interior and exterior of HNS facilities.
Sweep, mop, dust surfaces, and clean restrooms.
Walk around the grounds and pay close attention to needs and updates. Clean, organize and restock maintenance storage rooms and supplies, such as toilet paper, soap, and paper towels.
Keep inventory of maintenance and cleaning supplies.
Clean sidewalks and parking areas.
Pick up and dispose of trash, debris, branches, and similar items.
Operates electrical and gasoline-powered equipment.
Pick up groceries for Kitchen staff as needed.
Deliver senior meals as needed.
Performing basic maintenance repairs.
Performs other duties as assigned.
