Job Details

Spoon and Stable (located in the North Loop area of Downtown Minneapolis) is looking for a Barback to join our team. Barbacks are the primary service support position for the bar and lounge. They must be fast, efficient, precise, and able to shift priorities constantly. They have a growing knowledge of food, spirits, beer, and wine and are constantly looking to learn more about the craft of bartending.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Refilling juice, syrup, and batch bottles during service
  • Assisting with closing the bar area, including: sweeping, mopping, handling garbage and recycling, and general cleaning duties
  • Changing kegs and assisting with spirits and beer stocking
  • Polishing and restocking glassware throughout service
  • Clearing plates and glassware from the bar top and lounge areas
  • Marking tables for foodservice
  • Potential to assist with bar prep, including making syrups, cutting garnishes, and batching cocktails
  • Deliver and describe dishes to guests, and be able to answer questions about the menu
  • Providing tableside service support to the lounge and patio areas

Required skills and abilities:

  • Ability to think and communicate clearly in high pressure situations
  • Ability to move quickly and gracefully behind the bar
  • Knowledge of ingredients and cooking techniques
  • Growing knowledge of wine
  • Growing knowledge of cocktail ingredients and technique
  • Conversational English vocabulary
  • Ability to stand on your feet for up to 10-12 hours
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds

Compensation: Hourly ($15.97) plus tips
