The Food Expeditor serves as a critical link between the kitchen and the front-of-house team, ensuring that all food orders are accurate, properly plated, and delivered in a timely and coordinated manner. This role requires attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the liaison between kitchen staff and servers at The Pony Room, ensuring smooth communication and order flow
  • Double-check ticket orders for accuracy, completeness, and timely preparation
  • Inspect all plates for presentation, portion size, and temperature before they leave the kitchen
  • Coordinate timing and coursing of food to ensure that dishes are delivered together and in sequence
  • Communicate any kitchen delays or modifications to the service team promptly
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the expo line and pass-through window
  • Assist with inventory of expo supplies (e.g., ramekins, garnishes, utensils)
  • Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines
Requirements Qualifications

Required

  • Prior experience in a fast-paced restaurant environment preferred
  • Strong sense of urgency and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills
  • Ability to multitask and stay calm under pressure
  • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
  • Basic knowledge of food allergies, dietary restrictions, and proper handling
  • Ability to anticipate and understand guests needs.
  • Ability to move quickly and safely through workspace.
  • Ability to focus attention on service details.
  • Ability to follow directions thoroughly.
  • Ability to work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift and carry trays or items up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to navigate between kitchen and dining room efficiently
  • Comfortable working in a hot and noisy kitchen environment
  • Frequent or occasional need to perform the following physical activities: reaching, bending, pushing, pulling, twisting, lifting, and climbing. Have frequent need to perform standing and walking activities related to inspecting property.
  • Constant need to perform the following physical activities: grasping, turning, finger dexterity.
  • Occasional need to stand for long periods of time.
  • Lifting/carrying up to 10 lbs. frequently and 25 lbs. occasionally.
  • Vision requirements: constant need to view small print. Frequent need to see small details and things clearly beyond arms reach.
  • Hearing requirements: constant need to speak on the telephone and/or two-way radio, respond to general public and converse with staff. Ability to hear fire alarms and emergency equipment.

This role plays a vital part in ensuring a seamless dining experience for The Pony Room guests by upholding food quality, consistency, and prompt service.
