Nutrition Services: Cook - Part Time

Estacada School District is now hiring for the upcoming 2025–2026 school year!

Our Nutrition Services team is seeking dedicated and reliable individuals to join us for the upcoming school year. We have two (2) part-time Cook openings:

• Cook (19 hours/week) – Monday through Thursday, split daily between two locations

• Cook (16 hours/week) – Monday through Thursday, single location

As a member of the Nutrition Services team, you’ll play an important role in preparing and serving meals according to planned menus and recipes, maintaining high standards of food quality, safety, and customer service. Responsibilities include meal service, operating the point-of-sale system, and assisting with cleaning of the kitchen, equipment, and utensils. You’ll work under the direction of the Nutrition Services Coordinator and collaborate closely with other cook staff, building staff, and students to support a successful food service program.

Shifts vary. Must be available between the hours of 6:30 AM through 2:30 PM, Monday through Thursday.

Salary:

• FY25.26 Salary: Grade A, $18.32 - $24.64 per hour (DOE: current salary placement will be considered in accordance with the OSEA CBA)

Essential Qualifcations:

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent and one year experience with cooking in a commercial setting.
• Knowledge of methods for preparing, cooking, baking and serving foods in large quantities.
• Ability to read and write and do basic math.
• Ability to use computer program to process meal and deposit transactions and to communicate via e-mail.
• Reliable form of transportation
• Posses, or have the ability to obtain, a valid Oregon Food Handler’s card.
• Must possess excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to establish and maintain positive and effective working relationships with supervisor, staff members and the general public.
• Maintain regular and consistent attendance and punctuality
• Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position, physical screening and drug testing required at District expense upon offer of employment.
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Must pass Fingerprint based criminal background check, at employee expense upon offer of employment.
