Convention Utility Porter

ROLE EXPECTATIONS

• Responsibilities include, but are not limited, to the following:
• Vacuum all carpeted and upholstered surfaces using ride-on vacuums, push vacuums, and extractors.
• Pan-sweep floors and mop/sanitize back-of-house restrooms (including sinks, mirrors, toilets, and floors).
• Clean low surfaces: wall sockets, door handles, push bars, baseboards, ledges, and fixtures.
• Monitor and restock restrooms as needed, report maintenance issues immediately.
• Properly clean and maintain cleaning equipment (vacuums, sweepers, pallet jacks, forklifts).
• Keep warehouses, hallways, and linen rooms clean and organized.
• Accurately set up meetings and banquet events according to BEOs/MEOs and event diagrams.
• Move, stage, and store furniture and equipment for all event types.
• Assist with room refreshes between meeting sessions: refill waters, pick up trash, straighten chairs.
• Maintain the condition and placement of convention center inventory and airwalls.
• Support the breakdown process: remove linens, collect trash, return equipment to proper storage.
• Assist in moving boxes and materials for clients as requested.
• Provide friendly, courteous service to guests and team members at all times.
• Offer assistance to guests, leadership, or coworkers when appropriate or requested.
• Turn in all lost & found items to Security promptly and safeguard confidential information.

REQUIREMENTS

• Excellent customer service skills with a focus on professionalism and positive client interactions
• Organizational and time-management skills
• Interpret and follow written, verbal, and diagrammed instructions.
• Advanced computer skills, with an aptitude to learn new systems and procedures
• Knowledge of incident management systems
• Ability to read and follow diagrams and event documentation (BEOs/MEOs)
• Must regularly lift and/move up to 30-40 pounds, and must have the ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, kneel and balance when performing job duties in varying work areas such as confined spaces

PREFERRED

• Previous experience working in a similar resort setting

PAY RANGE

• The salary range for this position is $22.12 per hour.
